Some of the prettiest dolls wander in from their original owners. One shown here is from Sandy. She said
it was one that she had oohed and aaahed over when she was a small youngin'. Well, we were all small youngin's once
upon a time.
She had kept her doll, but was now parting with her, and she had accumulated layers of dust on her gorgeous dress.
So, into the spa goes the doll, for a shampoo and bath, and that dress...well, it headed straight for the cleaners...the container
that I use keeps the solution concentrated around the item, and seems to work really well, but...you can taste the dust in
the water...really !!
After the third bath, I pulled it out of the final rinse, gave it a Downy soak, and headed for the iron and spray starch.
A while later, I'm heading back for the doll, with a handful of pins...why don't they put snaps on these outfits?... and my
camera.
I'm showing the before and after on this doll, but they are all about the same. The dirt eats the fabric, ladies,
it ruins it ! Cover it or clean it. These are old fabrics, but they're tough.
